Make the time & then take it!

Take the time to organize your life.
The holi-hectic-days are over…whew!  It’s remarkable how much we all get done during such condensed period of time.   We blast through a long list of to-do’s to create the magic and excitement, connect with family and friends and share with our communities.  All the while, our normal lives are put on hold, for a just a bit, and most of us welcome a fresh start at the new year; a chance to restore our homes, get the kiddos back to school and get ourselves back on task with our input & output. Or, to put it another way: exercise and eating.  The temporary chaos is fun for awhile: staying up late with the kids, having that extra cookie [or two, or three…], spending a little more than we should, but it feels good to settle back into our regular lives.  Now is the perfect time to make some simple changes – no major resolutions required – to get organized, get calm and get it together.
If disorganization is complicating your life, and you’re feeling scattered and maybe a bit frustrated as a result, it’s time to get organized. Now is the perfect time.  You have to remember though that to achieve organization on the outside, you will need to take steps to become organized on the inside, by clarifying  priorities, objectives, and how you want your belongings and your lifestyle arranged. Try to keep stuff where it belongs. Know what you need/want to do, when you are going to do it, and avoid the stressful situation of not knowing what needs to be done. Organization takes time, but when you get into the habit of it,  life becomes so much easier!
Leave a comment and share a tip for how you plan to get the new year off to an organized start.  I will be using three new tools to keep things a bit less hectic:  Evernote, Workflowy, and DropBox. [Each has a free version]. Oh, and of course, a {PaperKeeper}!  Let me know if you use any of these or have other tips, tricks or ideas for keeping everything in it’s place and having a place for it all.  Happy New Year!
